About Morkipoo Dogs

What is a Morkipoo Dog?

A Morkipoo dog is a cross between a Maltese, Yorkshire Terrier, and Toy Poodle. This mix produces a small, affectionate companion with a variety of coat types and features.

Their coats may be straight, wavy, or curly, and come in many colors including white, cream, apricot, black, merle, and more. Ear styles vary—some Morkipoos have upright ears, others floppy, and some have one of each, giving each puppy a distinct and expressive look.

Whether you're drawn to their playful energy, cuddly size, or unique appearance, Morkipoos are easy to love and fit beautifully into many types of homes

Morkipoo Temperament

Morkipoo dogs are affectionate, lively, and deeply people-oriented. They tend to form strong bonds with their families and love being involved in daily life—whether that means curling up in your lap or following you from room to room.

The Maltese side brings a gentle, cuddly nature. The Toy Poodle adds intelligence, trainability, and a lively spark. And the Yorkie influence contributes boldness, curiosity, and a touch of sass. Together, this trio creates a puppy who’s sweet, spirited, and eager to please.

Morkipoos do best in homes where someone is around most of the day. They’re highly social and don’t enjoy being left alone for long periods. With early socialization and consistent, gentle training, they grow into confident, well-mannered companions who fit beautifully into family life.

Morkipoo Grooming & Coat Care

Morkipoos have soft coats that range from straight to wavy to curly—each with its own grooming needs. Straight coats do best with a pin brush, while wavy and curly coats benefit from a slicker brush to prevent tangles and mats. Regardless of texture, daily brushing with the right brush and a comb is essential to keep their coat clean, comfortable, and mat-free.

Bathing every few weeks helps them stay fresh without stripping natural oils, and regular trims can make upkeep more manageable. Their expressive little faces also need daily care. Tear stains and eye debris should be gently removed with a fine-tooth comb, then wiped clean with a dry cotton round to keep the area tidy.

Morkipoos are a high-maintenance breed when it comes to grooming, but they enjoy the attention and often relax into the routine. When kept positive and consistent, grooming becomes a great way to bond and build trust.
